Family friendly resort 💯 5 stars for cleanliness 5 stars for hospitality 5 stars for the breathtaking view We visited this resort form New York, this was one of our best experiences in India. They welcomed us with “Chukku Kappi”, we liked it so much. They were so kind to give us complimentary chukku kappi mix to take back home. Upon request, they made kraft mac and cheese (microwaveable) for my 1 year old. Rooms were spacious and clean, we got a 2 bedroom suite. I wanted to have some quality time with my sister’s family, and this room was perfect, very spacious for kids to play. Food was good too, different varieties to choose from. We had great time in this resort, wish we stayed longer. Suggestion: Mutton was not cooked well, but there was a variety so it wasn’t a big issues. ~ Apoorva

Very beautiful location 👌 ❤️ Calm and quiet atmosphere 😌 ✨️ The hotel is situated at the beautiful scenic view of banasura dam which enhances the beauty of our stay. It took 8hrs to travel from Ernakulam to the resort, but the beautiful view of the hotel and its location was so soothing I will definitely recommend this place... the staffs are very friendly and helpful .... food superb 👌 feels like home made food... Rooms are neat and clean..... not crowded....the swimming pool view is the highlight over here. We enjoyed a lot here as children had play area too. .. and lot of other activities to be engaged..... Hands down, this is one of the BEST properties in all of India! I'm surprised not many people are talking about it because it deserves all the hype and buzz. Firstly, the location is mind-blowing! The resort layout, aesthetics, service, staff, food, landscaping, and overall hospitality are simply **outstanding**. I have absolutely nothing but praise for this place. We're definitely coming back again and again and again! A special shout-out to Sharath S. J., who went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was splendid. He truly stood out - always so hospitable, helpful, and carried out every service with a smile. That said, the rest of the staff were equally, if not more, amazing! Pros If you are looking for a luxurious staycation surrounded by a lake and further surrounded by dense forest mountains and where you get to see both sunny and cloudy climates within a week, then Mountain shadows resort (wayanad) is the place. Try to plan during poornima days, yull get to see full moon light reflection on the lake. That's awesome!! You'll recollect the view from dining everytime while eating on your boring home table. [fun😜]. Staff is very very welcoming! Thank you so much for making us feel home. Appreciate your wonderful hospitality! Cons Food should be improved Off road drive to resort More activities within the resort There could be some complications behind the cons. Spectacular location Stunning 3D views Well built thatched cottages and amenities Very cleanly maintained Humble and helpful staff Attention given to every little details Lovely buffet service Very reasonably priced , compared to similar locations /ambiance and quality you would certainly end up paying several folds for a similar facility. Negatives It would be silly of me to say something "negative "for the sake of it , owners had possibly done everything they can to build this paradise ..upkeep would be the biggest challenge given the power of nature in this part of world….however I think “may be" we missed having a Bar and other adventurous experiences like hiking ,boating etc.. I would definitely comeback next time if they maintain the present high standards.. ~ ash G

A Magical Escape into Nature – Perfect Stay at Mountain Shadows My recent stay at Mountain Shadows, Wayanad was absolutely perfect! Of all my stays at large scale 5-star resort properties, Mountain Shadows Wayanad ranks the highest. I’m comparing this with a few other Taj, Hilton and Oberoi large scale resort properties across India that I’ve stayed at. My reasons were simple: 1. Exceptional beauty and views from room (unmatchable anywhere else) 2. Delicious food for all 3 meals served as a buffet 3. Luxurious cottages ( the pool view villa is really good, but the regular villa without pool is also amazing) 4. World class Staff: The can-do attitude of the staff here was unmatched. The smile on their faces and readiness with which they attended to your needs. I’m beyond happy with the time and money I spent here. I’ll definitely try to find an excuse to come back again. ~ Saumil T

Staying at MOUNTAIN SHADOWS RESORTS was unforgettable for me and my family. The location is beautiful with spectacular views of Banasura Dam Lake and the mountains all around. It was a perfect location for our vacation and the food was delicious. But what really made it a standout experience was the staff. Everyone was so helpful and friendly; they truly made us feel like we were at home. The resort has all the amenities and facilities to make your stay comfortable. The hotel is spotless and well-maintained which enriched our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Mountain Shadow to anyone looking for an excellent vacation experience! There is a need for construction of the connecting road as the last 3-4 kilometers of the road are in poor condition. ~ Parth P

We drove to Mountain shadows from another resort in Wayanad and checked in for a one night stay. The location is amazing and you are surrounded by a vast lake in the backdrop of mountains. Everything about our stay here was beautiful. Great hospitality, the staffs are well trained. Food was really good. They have a different menu each day. The F&B is well managed. Most importantly the whole place is well maintained and kept clean. The rooms and bathroom were very clean n hygeinic too. We had a beautiful view from our balcony it was very refreshing to wake up to it. They also have a beautiful infinity pool. The weather and the view made us extend our stay to one more night. Highly recommend this place for a calm and peaceful stay. We would love to come back to this wonderful resort agian. ~ Sharanya M

We had a 3 night stay in this luxurious property and it was one of the best. Excellent rooms and wonderful view of Banasura. Food and service were also good. Ms. Anisha from the front desk team was very helpful and did a wonderful job in taking care of us throughout. She was very friendly with our daughter too. From the time of arrival to check out she ensured that everything went smooth for us and she even took time to check if we reached our next destination safe after our check out. Ms. Aswathi from restaurant was also wonderful and welcoming. Overall we had a relaxing stay especially loved their live music dinner on weekends. Will surely recommend this place to friends and family. Kids play area and pool were also excellent and kept our daughter engaged. ~ Lakshmi S

My husband and i have become regular to mountain shadows . This place is Completely connected to nature the dam the hills with such breathtaking view it’s a Paradise on earth Hospitality of staffs is must to mention. Athithi Devo Bhava in it’s truest essence is exemplified by each and every act of service by one and all Mr Tejas from the reception helped us have a smooth booking and wonderful stay . Every request, no matter, small or big, he treated it as the most important thing. Food is also great authentic Kerala delicacy is served and i want to mention about Mr Sharat from the restaurant section he was very hospitable Thanks to whole team for giving us such a pleasant stay every time we visit ~ Pinky G

Our stay at this Wayanad resort was deeply disappointing, especially considering the premium price . We expected a luxury experience, but the reality fell far short, primarily due to the abysmal staff service. From check-in to check-out, the team lacked basic hospitality standards. They were unresponsive, unprofessional, and showed a complete disregard for our needs. Requests were routinely ignored, and communication was poor throughout our stay. For a resort charging such a significant amount, the lack of attentiveness, courtesy, and efficiency was unacceptable. Instead of a relaxing getaway, we were met with constant frustration. The beautiful location of Wayanad could not compensate for the severe lapses in service. I strongly advise potential guests to look elsewhere if they value quality hospitality. ~ mirshad m

Mountain Shadows is one of those places that surprises you in the best way. Getting there is an adventure on its own—the resort is tucked away deep inside the forest, and the last 3 km drive through the woods makes you feel like you're heading to a secret getaway. The road is a bit rough, but once you arrive, it all makes sense. The views are simply breathtaking, overlooking the dam and its beautiful little islands. It's peaceful, quiet, and the kind of place where you can truly switch off. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are warm and welcoming, and the whole property has a charm that's hard to describe. The food was amazing. There was plenty of variety, and everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and really well prepared. We stayed here for 2 nights, a big group of 8 adults and 4 kids, and it was such a good experience overall. The villas were really nice, clean and spacious, and the view of the hills in the morning was just beautiful. Food was great too, tasty and enough variety that even the kids didn’t complain (which says a lot lol). Special mention to Raju and Vishnu, they really looked after us and made sure things went smoothly the whole time. Their colleagues from Nagaland were super friendly as well, always helpful whenever we needed anything. Honestly the staff made the whole trip feel so much better. Would definitely recommend if you’re travelling with family or a big group. We’ll be back for sure ~ Naeem

Hi, I am a taxi driver. Whenever we come to Wayanad with a 3–4 day package, every driver hopes to get proper accommodation. When we hear that guests have chosen Mountain Shadows in Padinjarathara, we are always happy because drivers genuinely like coming here. Mountain Shadows takes great care of drivers. They provide free food three times a day, clean and comfortable rooms to stay in, well-maintained bathrooms, safe parking facilities, and even space to wash our vehicles. These facilities make a huge difference for drivers who spend several days on the road. I sincerely wish that more resorts in Wayanad would provide the same level of care and support for drivers. Location - You won't get any better location than this. This is ultimate beauty Service - Good quality support from all the staff. No complaints Food - People visiting from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, MP or above states will find taste little bit different of some food but quality is top notch. We discovered Wayanad Mountain Shadow Resort thanks to our friends’ wedding, and it was an unforgettable experience. The property is set high in the Wayanad mountains, with villas that look out over the lake and hills. Sunrises are magical here. The food was delicious, and the spa offers the opportunity to explore Ayurvedic treatments. Getting there from Calicut airport is a bit of an adventure: the road is long, mountain-style, and at times narrow — but in our opinion it was worth it. There is a games room for both children and adults, space for football and basketball, and a beautiful infinity pool. Service was excellent throughout, and the golf carts make it easy to reach any part of the resort. Overall, a unique mountain hotel in an extraordinary setting — we enjoyed our stay very much. ~ Larisa J

Quite pleased of the decision that I selected this property,for my stay,initially was bit hesitant as never heard of its name earlier. Fantastic ,serene,luxury property,with quite helpful staff like Ms.Sonia (at Reception, quite helpful in resolving any issues ) Mr.Jethin George(car Driver,man of few words,quite helpful,punctual). Mr Tony (Buggy driver, inside the complex) All restaurant staff,very attentive and helpful. Naturalist (forgot his name), was quite helpful explaining the flora and fauna during moring & evening naure trails. Overall fantastic..keep up the good work. Just,one request to the owner ,try to avoid construction,renovations during weekends at the property to avoid any issues to the guests. ~ KAMAL B
